Fallon’s Tonight Show Was Carsonesque

As a kid who could relate to Jimmy Fallon’s experiences of being allowed to stay up late with mom or dad to watch Carson’s monologue, I have to say that I am incredibly pleased that Jimmy was picked to host The Tonight Show. Jay Leno is a great comic and all of his success is well-deserved, but I always loved Carson’s style and Fallon seems to have that same sense of humanity that Johnny did. They are both kings of the break up. Everyone, including me, got annoyed with Fallon when he would laugh mid sketch on SNL (see Cow Bell sketch), but that sort of raw instinctually fun personality is what will make him a perfect Tonight Show host.
